Spelletjesdag

On 15 November 2025, the Q² organized a fresh edition of Spelletjesdag, held at the Goethe‑Institut Amsterdam. The event welcomed LGBTQ+ refugees and asylum seekers  living in the Netherlands. At its core, Spelletjesdag creates a safe, welcoming space where newcomers can both learn about Dutch society and meet others in similar circumstances.

The afternoon offered a mix of information sessions about Western political parties and their stances on LGBT+ issues and relaxed social activities, including games such as bingo.

Spelletjesdag continues to be more than just a gathering: it’s a tool for integration and community-building. By bringing people together in a supportive atmosphere, the initiative helps newcomers feel seen, connected and better equipped to navigate their new surroundings in the Netherlands.
